Of all
the tracks off Baliktanaw, my heart effortlessly falls for "Unang Araw".
There are several commendable things about it underscored by the nakedness and
vulnerability of the piece itself. It may not be the banner hit that it should
be but it encompasses the very essence of the whole album showcasing the highlights of Ebe Dancel
musicianship. The over-spilling emotion drenched over those vocals is plain
pain illustrated, that it almost sounds like a requiem – an ode to acknowledging and accepting the loss but at the same time being honest with thyself on how hard it is to move from that thing, for what it's worth, and for what it was.
