Straightforward
as it is, “Quicksand” is a song made to reassure everyone that there’s life (or
another love) after love even for the case of a heart in a state of perpetual
emotional vacuity. I admire how the song dwelled much on pain and self-pity throughout
its entirety but eventually crossed the danger line and concluded in a more
stable, stronger fashion, leaving some reason for affirming smiles and grateful
nods. But really, KZ’s vocals are a gift to everyone, speaking over a range of
emotions as fear, troubles, mistakes, assurance, and touché kind of stuff transcending
beyond multitude bounds of musical sensibilities.
