Deeply
rooted from its 80s origins, Twin Shadow’s take on this The Alarm original is
an instant treat, especially for 13 Reasons Why followers. Overlaid on playful
drums and echoed vocal overdubs reeling smoothly on synth glossed sound, “Walk
Forever By My Side” is a statement track on hope and friendship with some tinge
of subdued reassurance – “Just so you know, I’d do anything for you, anything”,
painted on that Clay Jensen sly smile. Reticence and yearning are heavily
hinted on the vocals which are as well coherent with the overall song package.
